This is a very easy sewing pattern involving Jersey knit fabric, that can be completed within an hour or so. It's great for using up any leftover bits of jersey material, especially as you can use a combination of 2 fabrics.
The instructions are the same for making the T-shirt dress and the T-shirt. The dress is just a little longer.
Fabric Selection - You will need medium weight jersey fabric with at least 30% stretch*. You can use one fabric or a combination of 2. I chose one fabric for the main front and back T-shirt and contrasting fabric for the sleeves and neck.
Sewing machine - you are able to use a regular sewing machine. If using an overlocker: you will be able to sew, cut, and finish your seams all at once. You will still need a regular sewing machine to finish parts of the T-shirt, such as the hems.
Pattern templates - print the pattern pieces onto A4 paper. Ensure you print out with scale set to 100% and print only on one side of the paper.
Sizing - This T-shirt/T-shirt dress is designed to fit a regular sized build a bear or similar sized teddy bear (i.e. a bear roughly 40 cm/15 ½ inches in height). Therefore, if your bear differs significantly in size, you may need to resize this pattern to fit. If you are not sure, it can be a good idea to take a look at the finished garment size.
Finished garment size:
• Underarm to underarm across the front/back 24 cm (9.5 inches)
• length of sleeve from shoulder to cuff 10.5 cm (4.25 inches)
• length of T-shirt 11 cm (4.5 inches)
• length of dress 18 cm (7 inches)
You will need the following:
• Medium weight Jersey fabric: 150cm wide: ¼ of a metre
• Matching threads
• Sewing machine with Jersey/ballpoint needle
• Optional: cutting mat and rotary cutter; overlocker
