How we started
Crafty girl Maria is owned by myself, Maria Hancock.
I have been a keen crafter and sewist since I can remember. From a very young age I was taught by my mum to bake, craft and sew and have always made my own curtains and blinds. I later began making my own clothes and got completely obsessed with fabrics and sewing.
I started out small on Etsy, just selling a few hand made items and a range of sewing patterns. I then expanded my business, launching my own website.
My aim is to bring you local store service, a good range of quality fabrics, crafts and haberdashery goods at affordable prices.
GREAT SERVICE We want you to be delighted with our service. If we've made a mistake we do our utmost to put it right to your full satisfaction. We allow returns if you change your mind or it's just not the right thing, so you have piece of mind in buying at a distance.
CUSTOMER FOCUSED I understand how confusing it can be to know which products you need, so I'm happy to help you. Also if you can't find what you are looking for, I'm happy to look into whether I can get it for you from one of my many stockists.
We love our planet and do what we can for the environment.
Currently, all the packaging is recycled and/or recyclable. However, our plastic bags are being phased out and replaced by more environmentally friendly sugarcane bags.
Please note that we do reuse as much packaging as we can, so you might receive your goodies in reused packaging, which may include plastic.
Any unsaleable goods (small pieces of fabric or fabric with faults), are given to charity.
